Company Bio
Our agency is now in its 4th generation. It began as Behnke Insurance Agency
in 1914 with Oscar Behnke. Later his younger brother Carl took the reins
during WWII. Carl passed away in 1968 and the agency finally came to Carl's
son-in-law Jim Nicla. Jim changed the agency name to Behnke-Nicla Insurance in
1970. Jim ran the agency with a focus on the family and was known to visit his
clients regularly at their homes.
In 1982 the name was finally changed to Nicla Insurance. In 1990 Jim's son
Thom came on board. Under Thom the agency continues its focus on family. Anyone
visiting the agency will meet Thom's mother Carol and most likely meet the
children as they play in the office in a fun casual atmosphere and embraces a
philosophy of insuring unique risks. As we come ever closer to our 100th year in
service to Sheboygan and the State of Wisconsin, we are proud to say that we
have and continue serve with integrity and a sincere desire to serve all of our
clients with a uniquely personal style. Please consider us for all of your
